In January, details of registration and enrolment for children starting school in August will appear on the Local Authority Social Media pages as well as our own school blog and X feed.
You must register your child with the school which serves your catchment area. However, you may exercise your parental right and apply to enrol your child at any school of your choice. This would be done through the placing request process, details of which can be found below.
We are very happy to welcome prospective pupils and their familiies in to visit the school and meet our staff team and see the facilities and resources which we have on offer. Primary 1 Enrolment for New School Year
Parents/carers of children who turn five between 1 March 2025 and 28 February 2026 should register by in January 2025 for starting Primary 1 in August 2025.
The link to the Primary 1 enrolment for registration form will be posted once the enrolment window opens.
You will also need to provide the following information at the time of enrolment.
The documents you’ll need
- A copy (scanned/snapshot picture) of your child’s birth certificate.
- Council tax notice. (You can obtain a copy on the North Lanarkshire Council council tax portal)
Deferred Entry to Primary School
Parents/carers who want to defer entry for their child to primary school and apply for an additional year of part-time pre-school should register their child for school as described above and complete the deferred entry application form.

Placing Requests
If you are considering putting in a placing request for your child to attend a primary school which is different from the one asigned to their catchment area then please note you must still enrol your child at their catchment school before then engaging with the placing request process.
