Blogging updates

This is what it takes to update our blog! Sometimes we struggle to get signal especially when we are on the move and it can take a long time to post pictures but we eventually get there. We are really enjoying sharing about the things we are up to and it is lovely to hear your messages back to us.

Flamingoland!!!!

>

Leah was the bravest on the ride by herself third time round!

We had another brilliant day enjoying all the thrills of the fair at Flamingoland! Lots if the children thoroughly enjoyed the Cliffhanger, Mumbo Jumbo, Velocity, Flip Flop, Kumali which are really big rides! Others enjoyed the Carousel, Pterodactyl, Boat Swing and many more!!! We were excited to see the baby giraffes, giant tortoises, wallabies and seals. The most exciting animal though had to be the Sumatran Tigers – so majestic! Just as we got to the flamingos the heavens opened but that didn’t stop us having a last few shots on our favourite rides! It has been fantastic even if a bit wet! After eating our burgers or pizza we have headed to the bowling where the competition is fierce for the highest score! All good fun!

Sorry the signal keeps going. I will update with a few more photos when I can. Flamingoland was “awesome, amazing, the best ever, great even though I was dying, fantastic…” and these are only some of the descriptions used by the children! Hot dogs -thank you to our PTA gift of money for a treat- went down well at lunchtime. The rain for the last hour didn’t dampen any spirits. I will try to  post some photos maybe around 1.00am as usual.

Sharing our learning

During our visit to the Jorvick centre we called P2a in their classroom to see if they had anything they wanted us to find out about for them as they are learning about the Vikings. Some of the children in P2 gave us quite hard questions but we managed to find out all the answers for them. When we came out of the Jorvick centre we called the children back again (think the wee one’s were ready to burst by then!) and some of the children in P6 gave them all the information . It was a fantastic experience for all involved!

York pictures

Oh what a really busy day. Lots of tired but very happy children. Ghost walk was a great success with lots of children watching for ghosts in their rooms tonight! Castle museum was excellent especially as it was a little wet outside whilst we were lunching inside. (We did let them out of the prison and the gallows). I think the smells of the Jorvik Centre will be a lasting memory for many as will the tank driving at the MAP and that includes all the staff too. Pictures of this to follow (as soon as I can get technology devices all charged and connected). It is great to read your comments and the children are loving that too. Please pass on to others how easy it is and I am delighted that  you are all enjoying the communication. Just have patience as we are on the go all the time and it is difficult to get enough of a signal to upload pictures at times. (Please note the times of this post) Be reassured that everyone is having a fantastic time and even when there are little hiccups, they are very short lived and they still don’t want to come home. We have also had some very complimentary comments from others about our well behaved and well  mannered group, so be proud.  looking forward to Flamingoland tomorrow

What a great day!

We have had a terrific day in York and now we are heading back to the Greno for dinner before going to the Military Adventure Park. Everyone is quieter on the bus today because they’ve had an exhausting time at the Castle Museum, the Jorvik Centre and the ghost walk. My cheeks are rosy – caught a little bit of the sun that we had. Looking forward to our trip tomorrow too…..but more of that later. Miss Bryce

Marvellous York

We have had a fantastic day in York! First we went round the Castle Museum looking at life in the past – some of the room were even before Mrs Brown’s time! We all loved the dungeons and the staff really liked the prison and the gallows:) After lunch we jumped over to the sights, sounds and smells of the Jorvick Centre, had a quick ice cream then it was time for THE GHOST WALK!! Lots of gruesome stories winding our way through the Shambles. On our way to dinner then it’s off to the Military Adventure Park….

P6 Team Building

We are glad to see our friends are having a great time in York.  P6 pupils have also been having fun with some outdoor activities.  Skip and Blossom from the local scout pack came in to do some team building exercises including how to pitch a tent and how to create a catapult.  Despite the weather we were outside all afternoon.
