Remembrance Assembly
Our Primary 7 pupils led us in a quiet Remembrance Day assembly this morning when we spent time thinking of all the brave people who have fought in war over the years. They did a fantastic job of explaining to younger pupils why we have Remembrance Day and why it is so special.
Queen’s Baton Relay Concert
We are about to be part of the Queen’s Baton Relay Concert by the BBC Symphony orchestra. All very excited!
Primary 4 Assembly
Our P4 pupils presented a fantastic Harvest themed assembly yesterday. They performed a play, sang some songs and read some of their stories about Harvest. They talked to parents and pupils about the importance of food and helping people who found it challenging to get enough food. David from the Food Bank came along to say a big thank you for all the food donations the school gave. Well done to all our P4 pupils for putting on a great performance.
Bog Garden Preparation
The P7/6 pupils helped Mr Murray yesterday by preparing an area in Honeywell Habitats for our new bog garden which we are hoping to plant after the October week. We still have another part to dig out so pupils from the P7 class have volunteered to help on Friday.
Food Bank
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Food Bank collection. The P3/4 classes have been very busy sorting and counting the items. They are currently working on a graph to display our results and we’ll get back to you with our total.
Thank You
Storyteller
P3 and P3/4 visited Chapelhall library yesterday to listen to a storyteller. Grace told them some stories, played games and sang songs. Everyone had a great time.
Open Evening
We would like to invite all parents and carers to our Open Evening on Wednesday 11th September at 6pm until 7pm. Your child will introduce you to their teacher and then show you round their classroom. The focus this year is on Homework and in particular spelling and phonics. If you are keen to know what Elkonin boxes are and how to do diacritical marking then this is your chance to find out about how your child learns to spell. Your children will be showing you how to do it!! Hope to see you on Wednesday at 6pm. (P7 parents please note the Kilbowie meeting is directly after the Open Evening, at 7-7.45pm)
Parent council
First meeting of the year is on Wednesday 28th August at 6.45pm in the school library. All welcome.
