We want to introduce ‘Treeco’ who is our entry into the North Lanarkshire Eco Mascot competition. Pupils came up with this idea and have developed it over the last few weeks. P4 pupils Madeleine Darling and Eva Hay were selected to go to Kirkshaws Primary to present our mascot to a judging panel. They did an amazing job but were up against some fantastic competition so we’ll have to see if Treeco will be selected by North Lanarkshire to spread his Eco roots.
We will keep you posted.

A reminder for Primary 1 parents starting in August. There will be a meeting for parents on Tuesday 13th May from 9.15-10.15 to find out about the curriculum and preparation for starting school. There will also be a number of visitors including a representative from the Parent Council and also from the Parent Teacher Association. We look forward to welcoming you there.
Time Update
The children are now at Gretna Green and they are expected to arrive at the school at 6.15. Looking forward to seeing you all then.
Homeward bound
Bus has now left Newcastle and will be stopping at Gretna for a break. They hope to arrive at school at about 5.45 but I will update the blog again nearer the time. Watching a DVD to pass the time, probably through shut eyes:)

Last Night Post
Or is this morning? Not quite, 13 minutes to go.
Flamingoland was great today and we were so lucky with the weather as it stayed dry all day and started raining just as we boarded the bus. There must have been lots of crossed fingers. The park was relatively quiet all day so there was no issue with having to wait in queues for rides and after everyone went round the whole park they all had time to get on their favourite rides again. We did however see the flamingos, and tigers, baboons, lemurs, kangaroos, wallabies, warthogs, pythons, meerkats….. Did you want pics of them all?
Sorry no scooters coming home as presents but lots of deliberations in the shops over what to buy for everyone. Children and 4 adults are sound asleep and a fifth one not far away. All cases are packed for an early start in the morning, I would maybe have the washing machines empty and ready and hot bubble baths run!
We are still a bit unsure of exact timings tomorrow and I will post as soon as I know more.
