Primary 7 Young Leaders

Today the Primary 7 class offered to teach the Primary 3/4 and Primary 5/4 children some PE skills. The Primary 7 children organised the activities, considered the points they would need to teach and also how they would control their group. I am not sure which class enjoyed themselves more. Everyone was physically active the whole time, the older children realised they had to adapt to suit and the younger ones loved being able to score goals against the Primary 7s. Have a look at the photographs below.

Allotment Open Day

i paid a visit to the allotment on Saturday and what a great day it was. The sun shone and the visitors enjoyed wandering around seeing the

variety of vegetables and fruits that are growing there. Thanks to the men and women of the Allotment Association who made everybody welcome. Even I came back with a planter of lovely flowers. Mrs Murray was there with her children too…… and also left with flowers to look after over the summer. We are going to be busy!

Sports Day

Sports day is on Friday 29th May at 1.00pm, weather permitting. If it is raining, we will delay the event until the next available dry day. Russell Street gate only will be open to allow parents access to the pitch. Children will compete in mixed teams with other children from their ‘House’. All children are encouraged to wear something in the colour of their Houses- blue, green, red or yellow. All teams will rotate round each of the sports activities and win points for their house. These points contribute towards the coveted House Shield awarded to the winning House at the end of term. Cheer for your House – Livingstone, Wallace, Owen or Bruce. At the end of the activities, we will run the finals of each stage’s flat race. There will also be races for adults too so wear your trainers.

We have had a lovely morning at our school allotment where we had a look at all the plants and vegetables that had been planted. We had a chat with the Chairman of the allotment who was very helpful and friendly. We are also investigating “How Things Grow” as our Science investigation this term.
