Eco Mascot Challenge

We want to introduce ‘Treeco’ who is our entry into the North Lanarkshire Eco Mascot competition. Pupils came up with this idea and have developed it over the last few weeks. P4 pupils Madeleine Darling and Eva Hay were selected to go to Kirkshaws Primary to present our mascot to a judging panel. They did an amazing job but were up against some fantastic competition so we’ll have to see if Treeco will be selected by North Lanarkshire to spread his Eco roots.
We will keep you posted.

Bags2School

Hi Everyone
Just a reminder that we have a Bags2School collection tomorrow. Any old clothes, shoes, soft toys etc can be brought to school and left in the staff car park at the entrance gate. If you have lost the bag don’t worry, just pop it in a bin bag and drop it off. This is a great chance for you to have a wee clear out!

Thanks

Spring Pictures

Our pupils were given the challenge of creating a spring picture and had 20 minutes to complete. Congratulations to Bruce house who produced the most spring like frieze. They will be awarded with 500 house points with other houses being given 250.

Memorial for Eddie

This week, Chapelhall Primary, Saint Aloysius Primary and Honeywell Nursery celebrated the life of their Janitor Eddie McMahon who sadly passed away last summer. Following the school community fundraising activities, a memorial bench and planters has been placed in the school grounds with the support of his employer Cofely (formerly Balfour Beatty). Mrs Brown said ‘Eddie was a big part of our school community and it seems fitting to have this memorial bench to remember him and its nice that his family were able to come and share this with us today‘. A donation of over £900 has also been given in his memory to St Andrews Hospice.

Chapelhall Bake Off!

Staff were given 20 minutes to design and decorate a cake with the theme,  Our house in spring.

It was decided that Owen, along with Livingstone had the best designs and will be rewarded with 500 house points each.  Bruce and Wallace will be rewarded 250 points for good effort.  Have a look at our cakes and decide for yourself.

Sing for spring!

Each house had 20 minutes to learn and perform ‘Spring Chicken’ and film it on their I-Pad. These performances were judged by Mrs Brown and the winning house was Wallace who receive 200 house points. Owen, Livingstone and Bruce will receive 50 points for their effort.
