Golden ‘Spook’ Treat
Congratulations to all our Golden Book pupils for August, September and October who had a fantastic time this afternoon with some fun Halloween activities. They were dooking for apples, drawing on ceramic pumpkins and making Halloween magnets. Have a look at some of our pictures below.
Hopscotch Theatre Group
Today we had a theatre group visit to tell us all about the story of St Andrew, Patron Saint of Scotland. We really enjoyed their perfomance and learned lots about his story. This will be great to think about as we celebrate St Andrew’s Day on 30th November. Many thanks to the PTA for providing this wonderful event for all of us!
Road Safety Team visit
Yesterday we had a visit from NLC Road Safety Team to remind us how to keep ourselves safe when we are out and about. Some of our senior pupils and our Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO’s) helped act out different scenarios for us to think about. We also had a visit from Speeding Ted who used to be very silly when out on the roads with his bike and in his car but he now knows how to keep himself and others safe too!

More Kilbowie photos and homework task
Hello again everyone! I am sure you have slept well over the last 2 days. I hope you enjoy a few more photos. There will be more on display at our Open Evening this week but this will keep you all going until then.
The Homework task to be completed by Friday is in 2 parts:
1. What 3 words would you use to describe your experience at Kilbowie. (Challenge yourself to try to come up with words that others haven’t used)
2. Write a paragraph about one ‘moment’ which stands out for you. (For me it was jumping off the rock during Gorge Walking!) Try to explain what happened but more importantly describe how you felt before, during and after your special moment. Then describe what you learned from being at Kilbowie. If you can post your thoughts on this blog, if not write it in your homework jotter. I look forward to reading about all your experiences.
Thursday Kilbowie update
Hi everyone, Still having a great week and can’t believe Thursday has come around so quickly! Today lots of us have been getting wet in the name of fun with canoeing and kayaking. Miss Hendrie decided to go out twice to gorge walking today, a glutton for punishment! We also had groups climbing, cycling and skiing. The main thing is everyone has been fantastic and have really thrown themselves into all the activities. Now everyone is getting ready for the highlight of the week … the disco! Thanks to everyone who has passed on message, all the children have really enjoyed getting them. Tonight will be the last blog although I will post more photos when I get WIFI at home!!! We have had an amazing time but we are also looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow about 2.30pm ish. 🙂 (A text will be sent nearer the time to update you) Bye for now…
Wednesday update
A super day again and the sun shone high over Kilbowie all day! We have all been busy during the day doing lots of different activities and each night we spend a little time writing our log books to reflect on the things we have done and what we have achieved. Today groups have been climbing, hill walk, gorge walking and canoeing. Again we have had some super star skiers so I think there may be a few requests for a trip to the slopes. Everyone is having a ball and we look forward to all your messages. Off to evening activities, bye for now:)
Tuesday night update
We have had a wonderful day and the weather has been very kind to us. Lots of groups went kayaking or canoeing, orienteering, gorge walking and skiing. Miss Hendrie had a great time mountain biking with a group too! We were also able to sing Happy Birthday to Leah and the kitchen staff kindly made a lovely cake for us all to enjoy. A great day and now all are in bed and I am off to bed too. Night everyone!
