Gymnastics Competition

Sixteen children from Primary 1-7 competed in the North Lanarkshire Heats of the Scottish Schools Gymnastics Competition today at Ravenscraig Sports Centre. They all had great fun, as you can see, and enjoyed every minute of the experience. Many of the children had never taken part in a competition where judges were scoring them on their skill and performance. They competed against many other schools and all performed their vaults and floor routines extremely well. Mrs Leggatt was delighted with every one and they should all be very proud of their achievements. Two children won best overall gymnast in their level-Abbie Nicholl and Summer Winning. Well done to both of these girls and to the very brave boy who was the only male competitor today. Everyone was a credit to Chapelhall Primary School and we are looking forward to next year already. Many thanks to all the parents who turned their living rooms into gym halls to practice and special thanks to Mrs Nicholl and Mrs Higgins for their help too.
