Eco Minutes

23^rd April 2015

 

 

1. Miss Binnie welcomed visitors from Bellshill Academy, Josh, Aaron and Miss Stark. They are in the Eco Committee in the Academy and they are interested to see how we run ours and how we can work together.

 

2. We discussed what we liked about the Eco/Health week. We liked the picnic and the police.

 

3. We discussed what we didn’t like.

 

4. Zara and Ellie fed back what they had done at the regional Eco Committee meeting. They planted plants in the garden. Miss Callender was telling us that some of the other schools have vegetable patches and they sell or use what they produce. This is something we can think of doing when our vegetable patches are ready. This is also what Bellshill Academy do.

 

5. Our solar panels have now been installed. We spoke to Mary and Mrs Paterson about how we could record how much energy they produce. Mrs Paterson will get back to us.

 

6. We discussed Health and Eco Topics each class has done this year.

 

7. It was discussed that we would need to start collecting and weighing the paper bins again.
