In Newmains Nursery Class we will be using our iPad to record children’s achievements in the Nursery.

This is a great app for maths. It is simple and easy to use. It covers a lot of different activities.

The children recorded their own puppet show using the iPads. They had great fun recording each other and then watching it back. We then emailed their individual videos to their parents.

As part of our transition to school we work with the P1s every week. A recent topic we worked on was the numeracy outcome for position and movement. One of our stations was an iPad table with the free Beebot app ready. We found the free version was challenging enough of for nursery and P1 children.

At Bellshill nursery centre the I pads are well used with both staff and children. Blobble writing is a huge hit with the children encouraging children’s writing skills who don’t normally visit writing area.

At Dunbeth nursery we are finding the new mini iPads are beneficial for observation & assessment purposes. We have used the video facility to support requests for assistance for individual children.
