At Ailsa Nursery some staff have found the Ipads have been very useful as part of the settling in process. Especially with children who are upset when seperating from their parents/carers. We found that by videoing the child when settled and busy in their play and learning it helped reassure the parents/carers and help them feel at ease.

Kirk O’Shotts Nursery Class
The children at Kirk O’ Shotts Nursery Class have been using their iPads to record themselves in different areas of the nursery. They like to watch these back with their friends and they can also show their parents at home time. The children particularly like to use the iPads outdoors to record their outdoor learning. They enjoy being able to show their friends and parents what they have been doing at nursery.
Newmains Nursery Centre
Here at Newmains Nursery Centre we have been accessing the Ipads since October 2013. The children are using them on a daily basis and for a variety of different things. We have been using them to video visitors for the children to recall their learning, to support current learning and we have been using them to support our 2 new initiatives VIG and VERP.
The staff have also been using the Ipads to support our Kodaly music initiative. Rosie, who delivers the sessions has been videoing herself singing the songs so that staff can remember the tunes and are able to teach it correctly to the children.

St Edward’s Nursery
Hello everyone
I attended the iPad training session today on sharing good practice. just wanted to send a post about Air Server. You may already know this but for anyone who doesn’t you can go online and download air server to your computer, not your iPad and this will allow you to mirror your iPad to your smartboard without using any cables. It cost $7.99 roughly £6.00 you will need to use a personal debit card to purchases this, then reclaim back from the school. www.airserver.com Take the educational license. Children can use any iPad to mirror what they are doing on the smartboard, also good for training sessions with staff and sharing photo,s videos etc with parents.
Outdoor ipad
A wee idea is to use your ipad outdoors. Let the children explore the ipad to take pictures and record videos of their very own learning experiences. Why not use the seasons? Record what you see, hear and like on your outdoor adventure then share this with your group of children to revisit or share their learning with others.
