P5 Rugby

Primary 5 have just finished taking part in a set of rugby lesson taken by a specialist coach. They really enjoyed these lessons and completed many rugby activities. The children fully participated in these lessons and learned about rugby and how to play.

P5 Trip to Stirling Castle

Primary 5 had a great trip to Stirling Castle to learn more about their topic The Wars of Independence and about castles. The first part of the day was led by a tour guide who took the children to different parts of the castle and then allowed them to look at and touch some of the weapons that would be used in the battles. The second part of the day the class split into three groups and we explored the castle ourselves. We looked at the kitchens, the rooms in the palace and the children got to play many games. All of the children had an excellent day.SAM_0960SAM_1015SAM_0972SAM_1012SAM_1020PSAM_0968SAM_0970SAM_1018

Taste Test – Primary 4

As part of their Five Senses theme, Primary 4 carried out a test to see which combinations of tastes they liked. As you can tell by their facial expressions, some children were not impressed!!!

ECO GARDEN

Each class in the school will be allocated a raised bed in the Eco garden.  Some of the children in Primary 4 have been busy painting signs for each of the classes. IMG_9338

Thank you GREENSIDE NURSERY – Primary 4

We would like to say a great big thank you to Greenside Nursery, Newhouse, who donated over 200 plug plants to the school.  Every child in the school has planted up their flower into a bigger pot.  When the weather improves, and the danger of frost is past, they will be planted our in the garden.  Here are some photos of Primary 4 busy gardening!IMG_9335 IMG_9337 IMG_9339 IMG_9340 IMG_9336

Eco Garden

Some of the children were shocked to find lots of glass bottles and broken glass in the garden.  They had been thrown over the fence.  There were sharp pieces of glass all over the slabs, gravel and picnic bench.  It could have caused serious injury!  We hope it doesn’t happen again.IMG_9341 IMG_9342 IMG_9343
