The S1 Girls Netball team have had a glowing start to their league campaign by beating Coltness H.S with a convincing 12-1 win.  The girls were nervous for their first upcoming game, however, they expressed great composure and team work which is reflected in the end result.  Ciara Cavin as Goal Shooter was sinking nets left, right and centre, outstanding shooting.  Donna Marie Boyce was phenomenal as Centre position, supporting her team in both attack and defence.  A dominant force in stopping the oppositions attack was our Goal Keeper, Emily McTear and Goal Defence Rebekah Feeney. All girls played excellently and are “Well excited” for their next match against former league winners St Margaret’s on November 20.

Miss Clyde’s Yellow Netball team also defeated Coltness H.S winning 20-13.  It was a very close match in the first 2 quarters with both teams scoring point for point. However, in the last two quarters the battle was won due to the outstanding skill and fitness levels of the Cardinal Newman Girls.  They play last years runners up St Andrews at home on December 3.

Good Luck to all the girls.
