Homework w.b. 6.10.14

Reading: Home reader

We have now completed our modelled text ‘Titanic:Death on the Water” This week in class we will read short stories and continue using comprehension strategies.

Spelling – we are revising all spelling words from this term and will have our spelling test later this week.

In class we are studying prepositions – discuss examples of these with your parents.

Maths: Addition – On your given sheet, create a shape problem for a partner. Use the criteria we have discussed in class and on the example.

Other – please be ready to discuss your newspaper article this week.

R.E. – Learn prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.

Please note: Some children do not have appropriate indoor shoes – make sure shoes are practical and will not fall off during P.E. activities.

Letters: There are many letters still to be returned. Permissions and Data forms.

Lepra workout on Wednesday – brink P.E. kit and money envelope if possible.

School closes 3pm Friday for October break, see you all Monday 20th October.

Research a member of the Titanic team. Note down some key facts about them to help you write a report.

Task 7

Use a dictionary and write the meaning of 5 of your spelling words.

Maths

Revise all multiplication tables. Try a speed tables task at home.

Peer Mediation

For Wednesday write 5 important things about Peer Mediation

If you are interested in being a house captain write a short speech about what you could do in the role and how you would lead your house. Next week is a House Meeting week and you should be ready to present to your house.

Peer Mediation

On Thursday and Friday Primary 7 took part in Peer Mediation training sessions. They have learned about good listening skills, dealing with emotions and acted out some scenarios that they may encounter when helping their peers resolve friendship issues they may experience.

Homework w.b. 1.9.14

Spelling – Pupils have been issued with a spelling list appropriate for their group. This has been noted in their homework jotter from last week.

Reading – The model text will be taken home on alternate nights. Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs.

It is important to return the text everyday to allow for class tasks based on the novel.

When it is not you turn to take home ‘Titanic – Death on the Water’ you shoud read a book you have at home or take a book from the library.

Reading – continue private read of class or private novel.

Maths – a double sided page has been given out, this sheet should be completed over the next 2 homework weeks.

Commonwealth Topic: India is our Commonwealth Country – write one fact on your outline of India and place it on our large map in class. Try to have an unusual fact that no one else will have.

Blog – leave a comment on ANY St. Serf’s blog – use this as a chance to tell other classes how well they are doing or what you really like about their work and achievements.
