You can speak to any member of school staff for support at any time.
We have dedicated in-school counselors. You can request to speak with Ann Marie or Lucy. The counselling room is a calm, comfortable and private space, and is located in the guidance corridor.
MCR Pathways is a mentoring programme that helps you feel supported, confident and ready for the future. When you join the programme, you’ll meet with a mentor once a week in school, this is someone who listens, encourages you and helps you work towards your goals. At St Matthew’s Academy, the MCR Pathways Coordinator is Michael Lafferty and he can be contacted by email at michael.lafferty@mcrpathways.org. For more information on MCR Pathways, visit http://www.mcrpathways.org/.
St Matthew’s Academy also has a dedicated Campus Police Officer who works closely with the school to support the safety and wellbeing of all pupils. The officer’s role is to build positive relationships, provide guidance, and offer practical advice on issues such as online safety, personal safety and community concerns.
