Welcome to Saint Matthew’s Academy
Saint Matthew’s Academy is a six-year denominational school established in 2007 to serve primarily, though not exclusively, the Catholic community of North Ayrshire. The school has an enrolment of approximately 1,350 young people. The Head Teacher is Mr Stephen Colligan, he is supported by four Depute Head Teachers: Mrs Allen (Head of S4), Mr Ross (Head of S3), Mrs Holmes (Head of S2 and S6), and Mr Gardiner (Head of S1 and S5).
As a denominational school, St Matthew’s Academy aims to be a centre of excellence, providing the highest possible quality of education within a Catholic community built on care, cooperation and mutual respect. We strive to give every member of our community the opportunity, encouragement and support needed to achieve their full potential.
