Topic – The Rainforest

Remember to check out the grid of activities for you to do on the rainforest. So head over and check it out. 🙂

Miss Taylor is looking forward to reading your research tasks on the Rainforest. When we return to school we will spend time sharing our learning on the Rainforest

In Term 4 we will be working on a Science topic learning about sound. As an introduction to this new topic click on the link below to learn more about sound vibrations. When you click on the link scroll down and work your way  through the starter and main activities with an adult. There are some great videos to help you understand more about how sound travels through the air.

Once we understand more about sound a big part of our learning will be researching how animals use sound to communicate. I felt this fitted in really well with our Rainforest topic and I think it will be a really interesting topic for us to learn about.

You may need to create a free trial to access this if it doesn’t work I will try and find another way to access it.

Languages

Over the holidays I had been reflecting on how to get the most out of our learning and I thought we could look at learning new skills while we are off and I know you are all keen to learn new languages. So, lets do this!

I thought this week we would start with Spanish

  • Mount Teide is the highest mountain in Spain (3718 m, 12198 ft) and an active volcano.

  • The Pyrenees is a mountain range that divides Spain and France.

  • Spain includes a number of islands including Mallorca, Tenerife, Ibiza and Gran Canaria. Many can be found in the Canary Islands, an archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa.

  • The Spanish tourism industry is one of the largest in the world, bringing in billions of Euros into the Spanish economy.

  • Spain produces a large amount of renewable energy, including wind power and solar power.
