We cut out different 2D shapes to make our Shape Space Monsters

      

We can identify and name 3D shapes, We can sort objects into their 3D shapes   

We then went on a 3D shape hunt to find more 3D shape objects

To investigate the characteristics of 3D shapes and sort them by their properties

Roll, stack, slide, straight/ curved sides.

 

We used our knowledge of the properties of 3D shapes and their faces to play Guess the Shape. We felt the corners, edges and faces to guess.

We also used 3D shapes to create or copy 3D shape structures.

This week we used construction kits to make 3D shapes. We used clever sticks and also matchsticks and playdough.
