Exploring Shape

We have been investigating 2D shapes and learning about the properties of circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, pentagons and hexagons.

We have been looking at shapes and counting the number of straight sides, curved sides and corners

We have been using clever sticks and wooden sticks to make some shapes.

We also played Lets Draw the Shape. We had to read the clues about the number of sides and corners, draw the shape and then name it. We turned over to see if we were right.

We had great fun trying to make some 2D shapes using the pegs and boards.

We took our learning about shapes outdoors. We had a shape hunt and found lots of 2D shapes. We investigated and think that rectangles are the most popular shape.

The girls found a drain cover which was a circle with little square patterns on the top.

The rocket had lots of different shapes. It had squares, a triangle and a big circle too!

Lots of rectangle shapes making up our rhyme signs, the fence and lots more.
