Just like that, we are into our final term of Primary 1!

We are really lucky to have had a full, uninterrupted  year at school. It has gone so quickly and now we are getting ready to go into Primary 2.

This term, we have sent home 2 homework booklets. Please complete one page from each booklet per week. In Literacy, we are really trying to focus on independent sentence writing. We know all about capital letters, full stops and finger spaces but sometimes we need a little reminder to include them all in our writing. When writing at home, try to encourage your child to sound the word so that can really hear what sounds in the words and they are able to have a go at writing independent before checking in with an adult for the correct spelling.  You will also find a copy of all the Phase 2 and 3 high frequency words and sounds to practise at home. 

In Numeracy, we have been continuing to work on addition and subtraction within 10 and 20. We have also been focusing on Beyond Number topics such as money, measure and data handling which you will notice in your Numeracy booklet. Lots of these activities are to consolidate learning we have completed in class. 

Finally, to support our Interdisciplinary Learning, we have sent home a grid of ideas for you to complete at home for The Enchanted Forest and Minibeasts. Any activities that you choose to complete, please take some pictures and email them over. It would be great to see!
