Big Biology Day Grant
- Amount Available – up to £500
- They offer 10 Big Biology day grants to run a one day science festival that celebrates life sciences and engages the public and families
- Festivals can include hands-on-activities, crafts, demonstrations and talks that cover a wide range of bioscience topics
- Deadline for submission – applications currently closed however keep an eye on the web page
Royal Society of Chemistry Outreach Fund
- Support, empower and inspire school-aged learners to become more connected with and enjoy chemical science
- Amount available – Up to £5000 (small grant) and between £5000 and £10,000 (large grant)
- Deadline for submission – 4th of July, 1st August, 5th September, 3rd of October and 7th of November
Rolls-Royce Schools Prize for Science & Technology
- Amount awarded – 50 schools are selected for the £1000 (Special Merit Award) these will then be short listed into finalists who will be granted a further £5000
- Applications should outline an idea for a sustainable science, mathematics, or technology initiative, specific to your school which will be delivered between September and June
- Your project can focus on any area of science, mathematics, or technology
- It can be either a new idea or development of something you are already working on
- Deadline for submission – application currently paused however resuming in 2022
Institute of Physics School Grant Scheme
- Amount awarded – up to £600
- Grants are for projects or events linked to the teaching of physics or engineering
- Grants can be used to cover the following costs related with your project:
- Materials and resources
- Transport
- Supply cover (in certain circumstances)
- Your application must be for costs associated with a NEW project
- The project must add value over and above the basic curriculum requirements. IOP will not accept applications for equipment/resources to deliver the curriculum
- Deadline for application – 1st of June (for projects taking place in the following Autumn term) and the 1st of November (for projects taking place in the following spring term)
The Royal Society Partnership Grants
- Amount awarded – up to £3000
- Grants are awarded to schools to enable students to carry out STEM projects
- The Partnership Grant scheme offers up to £3000 for schools to buy equipment to allow them to run a STEM investigation project. These projects are to be run in partnership with a STEM professional (research or industry)
- The partnership between School and STEM partner needs to be established before starting the application
- Application deadline – end of June and end of November
Ernest Cook Trust Outdoor Essentials Grant
- Amount awarded – £500
- Grants are awarded to schools fortransport and travel to Outdoor Learning venues or to fund projects that provide nature on the doorstep.
- ECT’s funding priorities are to schools that:
- Are in areas of high deprivation and/or have pupils who live in deprived areas
- Are committed to enabling outdoor learning and see environmental engagement as an important part of education
- Demonstrate that outdoor learning will have a wider benefit to families and to their local community
- Applications are currently closed however are expected to reopen in Summer 2022
Armourers & Brasiers’ Company – Primary School Science Grant
- Amount awarded – £600
- Grants are awarded to purchase equipment so that students can enjoy practical science or to run science enrichment projects in schools.
- Grants are made in support of eligible applications in the order in which they are received until the funds available in the financial year (ending 31st March) are exhausted.
- Your school must not have received a grant from the Gauntlet Trust in the current or previous financial year

How much can I apply for?
Applicants can request up to £600 in total towards running CREST Awards – this breaks down into two categories:

up to £300 to cover CREST registration fees

up to £300 to spend on support costs for running the Awards, such as CPD for school staff, supply teacher cover, CREST link schemes or a delivery partner, consumables or equipment.
