As well as the variety of programmes the Family Learning Team deliver across both primary and secondary schools, we also offer activities during school holidays, as well as events to marks special celebrations and festivals, such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween. We will use the News tab to keep you updated on what the Family Learning Team have been doing and what is coming up.
Family Learning Festival 2023
Family Learning Festival is a national celebration which marks and inspires a love of learning in family life and takes place in October every year.
To mark the festival in North Ayrshire, the Family Learning Team organised a ‘Celebration of Play’ event, open to families from across all our schools.
Our ‘Celebration of Play’ took place on Tuesday 24th October at Auchenharvie Academy, with 22 families attending. There were a variety of table-top games on offer as well as traditional playground games delivered by several of the team.

Sweets, crisps, and juice from ASDA Irvine
As well as the kind donations we would like to thank the staff from Auchenharvie Academy who allowed our team access to the large gym hall. This was a fantastic space for our event and ensured families had lots of space to enjoy the variety of games on offer, for all the family.
Finally, we would like to thank the families who were able to attend the event and made it a fun filled success.
