The role of the Keyworker

THE ROLE OF THE KEYWORKER

Every Child will be allocated a Keyworker who will:

  • Meet and greet you and your child on the first day
  • Discuss your child’s settling in plan (see previous page)
  • Complete all necessary paperwork
  • Gather information about your child’s likes/dislikes/interests and discuss any concerns you may have
  • Tour the Nursery and introduce you to all staff

Throughout the year your Keyworker will:

  • Set up your child’s Special Book and record their ongoing progress and development
  • Plan positive learning experiences for your child, which will allow them to develop skills for life
  • Meet with you at least 3 times within the year and ensure that you are fully involved in your child’s Personal Learning Plan
  • Ensure that you have access to all records, reports and evidence of your child’s progress in nursery.

Working Together

Everything your child experiences has an impact on their emotional wellbeing.  Therefore, by sharing information and working together ensures your child will blossom in a nurturing environment.
