Our Aim

The aim of the Art and Design Department at Auchenharvie Academy is to promote creativity by giving all art students the opportunity to reach the highest level of personal achievement.

Pupils and staff work together to foster a creative working environment where there is respect for everyone’s diverse learning needs and aspirations. Pupils learn to think and create for themselves and are able to develop as independent artists through encouragement from staff and their peers around them.

Our department offer excellent specialist insight from staff in all areas of art and design. For example: drawing and painting, ceramics and sculpture, graphic design, digital image making and architecture.

We deem creativity to be an essential part of lifelong learning.
