                               School Grounds Action Plan

(I)   Seating and Planters

  • Link with the Social Work Criminal Justice Department  (SWCJD)

School raised £900 for materials and the planning /design was carried out by school technical department and  (SWCJD) constructed and installed furniture

  • Eglinton Country Park Rangers assisted with the provision of soil and plants for the planters.  The School Gardening Group will work with the Rangers to plant out the boxes in the Spring

(i)     Bulb Planting

  • 500 bulbs were planted at school entrance in November 2012 through the Eglington Rangers contact.

(ii)   Litter Picking

  • Pupils of all stages are involved within the school grounds

(iii)   School Digital GPS Clock with Temperature Probe

  • Clock purchased through Local Action Fund – Eco group members instigated the purchase as a result of whole school consultation and followed it through all stages of the grant application.

(iv)    Outdoor Nature and Environmental Activity Area

  • Grant application through Awards for All ( unsuccessful in the first phase  – have reapplied with help from Scotplay )
  • Pupil Local grant applied for ( £1000) information and forms filled in by pupil and awaiting decision

(v)    Bike Storage Shelter

  • £ 500 grant received for material to erect the shelter made from bottles
  • SWCJD to assist in construction

(vi)   Mosaic

  • Mosaic has been planned and costed to be placed at school entrance . This links in with school vision and values
