£681 raised today, well done everyone!

Fifteen of our S6 students completed the penultimate part of their SCQF level 6 Refereeing Development qualification this week when Grade One referee Kevin Graham was in school to formally assess our students. His visit included two fitness tests and he also began the process of assessing their practical refereeing skills and abilities which will be completed with a final assessment in June.

Thanks go to Mr McHarg in PE for delivering the course. Kilwinning Academy is the first school in Ayrshire to deliver the qualification in conjunction with the SQA and SFA and we are delighted to have developed this partnership to support the next generation of football referees.

SQA study leave for all S4,S5 and S6 students is as follows:

Last day of school – Monday 28th April

All students return to school – Monday 2nd June

There are two exceptions:

All students sitting the Modern Studies examination on Tuesday 29th April are permitted to be absent from school on Monday 28th April to prepare.

All students sitting the Physical Education examination on Monday 2nd June will return to school on Tuesday 3rd June.

We wish all our students well in these important examinations.
