What is the Young STEM Leader Programme?
The Young STEM Leader Programme (YSLP) aims to inspire more young people to develop an interest in STEM and pursue the study of STEM subjects and relevant future pathways.
You will have the opportunity to explore: the impact of STEM and it’s ability to solve problems; Scotland’s role in STEM; opportunities, pathways and futures in STEM; challenging stereotypes in STEM; health and safety.
Completing the Young STEM Leader Programme gives you the chance to inspire, lead and mentor your peers through the creation and delivery of STEM activities.
Not only will you have the opportunity to consolidate and extend your knowledge and understanding of STEM but you will be required to plan and deliver a STEM activity, event or interaction. The programme is offered at SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6.

Horizons – where can this subject take you?
On completion of the Young STEM Leader Programme you will receive a unit award at your chosen level (4, 5 or 6).
This award will support you to pursue any STEM based career/pathway.
