Physical Education

What is Physical Education?

National Physical Education combines the study of practical and theoretical knowledge and understanding to explore performance enhancement.  The course content will encourage learners to examine the impact of different factors on a performance through investigating, analysing, developing and evaluating the quality of their performance improvement.

What skills are developed?

  • Ability to evaluate own performance and plan for future improvement – skills and planning tools that are transferable into improving performance in any subject area or aspect of life
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for positive life relationships
  • Planning, preparing and organisational skills
  • Demonstrating appropriate etiquette and respect for others
  • Course content raises awareness and studies strategies to enhance Mental, Emotional, Social and Physical Wellbeing

The Health, Sport and Leisure industries are very popular sectors, which are continually growing and boasts a wide variety of different employment opportunities from Sports Coaching and Leisure Management; to Sport Science and Physiotherapy.  Physical Education is a rewarding and enjoyable course which provides a foundation of knowledge which can be transferrable into any of these career pathways.
