What is National 5 and Higher Dance?
The overall aim of the course is to learn and perform a broad range of dance skills and techniques while also understanding and applying safe dance practice in relation to physical wellbeing. Apply a broad range of complex choreographic principles, devices and structures in choreographed sequences while responding to a range of stimuli using imagination and creativity to create choreography. You will also be required to evaluate your own work and that of others. The National 5 and Higher Dance courses also allows you to convey a range of themes, ideas and emotions through movement while building up a knowledge and understanding of theatre arts relevant to dance. Lastly, you will research, develop and critically evaluate the creative process through choreography.
