What is Computing Science?
Very little in our lives is not affected by technology. Decisions we make are based on information gathered and selected using systems and algorithms, presented using web based technology using machines running the most effective and efficient programs. Computing Science is using creativity to solve problems to improve businesses and society and every industry needs people to understand computing technology at a range of levels.
What skills are developed?
- Analytical Skills – identifying the nature of the problem
- Critical thinking – evaluating a range of solutions
- Creativity – thinking outside-the-box
- Problem solving – designing a solution
- Accuracy – creating working solutions
- Resilience – not giving up
- Communication in written and graphical formats
What kind of person does it take?
- Ambition to do better every time
