Senior students who would like to continue their studies in Geography are welcome to join the Advanced Higher course.
This is a unique qualification, with 66% of the final grade based on individual research:
- A Geographical Study based on individual fieldwork & research,
- An Issues Essays critiquing a topical theme with differing opinions.
Classroom teaching will focus on Geographical Skills:
- map interpretation,
- data gathering,
- data analysis & presentation
These Skills form the structure of the final SQA examination.
AH Geography is excellent training for students considering university as it builds many of the skills required to succeed in tertiary education.
