The transition programme for the pre school children to P1 has begun with the Primary 6 children, who will be the buddies for the children after the summer, visiting the nursery last Thursday to play with the children.
They all were having great fun and the P6 children were sad to leave. The children will visit for the next two Thursdays to continue to get to know the children.

They have also taken some of these photos themselves, especially at the Transient Art table where they have been encouraged to photograph their own and each others work.
On Wednesday 10th February we had another Read and Play session, and Love was in the air! We read the story “Guess How much I Love You” by Sam McBratney, and then the children got the chance to make 2 cards and a heart shaped bird feeder with their accompanying adult, whilst Disney Love songs played in the background.
Having family members join the children for their snack, made Pancake Day all the more fun!
We are currently in the stages of rebuilding the igloo as it took a tumble, but in the early stages the children have been doing a lot of work discussing the igloo and a floor book is in the process of being created around all their ideas. Here are some photos of them creating and enjoying the finished product #1.

The morning children had a great time at their party, and they all looked fantastic in their party clothes. We played ring games, pass the parcel and musical bumps, had a delicious party tea and rounded off the morning with a visit and gifts from Santa.
On Monday 21st December the morning children visited the residents at Hanover Court to sing our nativity and Christmas songs. They did very well and the residents all thoroughly enjoyed seeing their costumes, listening to their songs and chatting with the children afterwards.
Wow! What a fantastic response to the Nursery Rhyme Dress up day to finish off World Nursery Rhyme week! Their were some fantastic ideas and parents and children really put their thinking caps on. It was a lovely way to round off a week of rhymes and poems which the children have thoroughly enjoyed and with your help, reminded the staff of some rhymes we haven’t heard for a while.
Well done also to those of you who had a go at answering the nursery rhyme quiz! There were some tricky ones in there!!
