Madison received her golden sticker and certificate for trying really hard when writing and copying words at the assembly on Friday.
Well done Madison!
The morning and afternoon children from the red side walked down to Buckie Library on Wednesday 4th May for a story and fun session. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit, listening to stories and learning about butterfly life cycles, and also a tour of the library. The blue side children are looking forward to their visit next wednesday (11th May).
Afternoon children enjoying their visit
On Monday 25th April the morning children visited Millbank Primary School as part of our transition and used the hall to play some games, had snack at the school dinner tables and finished off with a story before home time. We had a great time and can’t wait until next time when hopefully we’ll be getting outside into the playground aswell!
The children had great fun learning a new craft and adding their own personal touch! We had to cut very carefully along the lines and then open the crown out . . very skilful work . . ..craftmanship fit for royalty!
We looked very regal and our crowns were very decorative, we even tried to curtsey and wave regally!!
On Thursday 21st April we were very lucky to have a French Speaking Assistant visit the nursery in the morning to speak a little basic French with the children. They thoroughly enjoyed this experience and by the end of the short session were attempting some numbers, saying hello and goodbye, saying “my name is . . . “, and some colours. As a result of this the children agreed they would like to learn a bit more French and listen to some some songs. The following week we had “snail sandwiches” for snack (cream cheese sandwiches rolled into snail shapes), and we listened to some counting and traditional songs on the computer, and also listened to, and tried to sing along with, some nursery rhymes translated into French. We are hoping to do some more of that over the next few weeks.
We had a couple of fantastic visits to tesco in the first week back after the Easter Holidays. We got a behind the scenes visit, the morning children particularly enjoyed being in the freezer, a story about health eating, a fruit and veg treasure hunt and fruit tasting, which the children, parents and staff were all game for! Thanks to Sam and her colleagues for giving us a great visit, we will definitely be returning!
We have been learning about healthier options in nursery this term.

On Friday 4th March our buddies walked down to nursery to join us in walking back up to school for assembly. This is our first visit to the school with our buddies as part of our transition. It was very exciting. We walked really well up to the school and sat down in the hall with all the other school children and listened to the assembly. It was about World Book Day and we got to hear about book characters and favourite stories and we sang a song. Then the grown ups came to collect us and some of them got to meet our buddies which was really nice.
