Last week P3/4 were learning about the colour wheel with Mrs Stewart our visiting art specialist. We used what we had learned about mixing colours to create beautiful sunset paintings. We are now going to add dream trees to our backgrounds. We will let you see the finished work when we have completed our masterpieces!

Hot Chocolate

This week some of P3/4 have been making delicious hot chocolate as part of their writing.  First we had to write our instructions and then we used them to make Hot Chocolate for the class to taste.

We know that a good set of instructions must be in the correct order, must use bossy verbs and have capital letters and full stops.

To make this writing task trickier we had to use opening words like first, next, then, after and finally.

Here are some of the things we have learned about writing instructions:

Max – We need bossy verbs so people know what to put in and what to do.

Blair – We need to explain each sentence in as much detail as we can.

Marley – The bossy verbs tell us what to do.

Keiran – The opening words help us keep the instructions in the right order.
