We have now finished our recycling challenge! We are very pleased with the results. Miss Murray is pleased too as we were focusing on skills such as valuing everone’s opinion, compromising, encouraging and problem solving. We would not have achieved such good results if we had not used these skills. We had very original ideas as you can see from the variety of items produced. We made everything from a cookie monster to a submarine!

Planning
Today we have been busy working in our groups planning what we are going to make for our new group challenge. It is to make a toy suitable for a 4 year old child which is made from things which have been discarded.
We have discussed ideas in our groups. Each person then had to sketch their toy and present it to the others. We then decided which one to make.
In the photos you can see us busy drawing out the annotated diagrams and listing all the resources we need. Each group has to bring in their own materials/waste items so please do not throw away your junk!
The next stage is actually making the toy. Then we will evaluate how well we worked together and how successful we were in meeting the success criteria.
We will post pictures when we have completed the challenge.
