Cyclists

104_4408Some pupils in P6 have been learning how to ride their bikes safely by taking part in ‘Bikeability’. The training has taken place each day this week. Today is their final session before being assessed on Monday to see if they can put into practice what they have been taught. It will be a nail-biting time until they get their results and see if they have passed.

It doesn’t finish there though. The skills they have learned need to be remembered every time they go out on their bikes. We have our fingers crossed and wish them good luck.

New Context

This term we are going to be studying Pollution and Conservation. We have thought about and shared what we already know about this subject. In the photo you can see us doing a carousel activity to gather information.

Next we are going to suggest ideas of what we would like to learn about this topic and the types of activities we’d like to dDSCF1974DSCF1970 DSCF1971 DSCF1972o. We are looking forward to it.

Homework Challenges

We  peer assessed our homework challenges on Europe. We had to keep the success criteria in mind when deciding who to give our votes to. We had many different types of presentations to choose from. There were posters, booklets and brochures to choose from. As you can see from the photos a lot of careful thought and consideration went into making the decision.

When the votes were counted we had five clear winners. Well done to Cameron Ritchie,Meaghan Smith, Neve Paterson,Ellie Cormack and Muir Duthie who all got a Golden Ticket and five House Points for their good work. Muir was declared the overall winner. He included a photo, coins and even some sand from Tenerife on his poster!
