Today we have been making posters for different stalls in our cafe.

In PE we have been creating short dance routines along to the count of 8 in the music.
This week we worked in small groups to come up with a sequence that we could show the rest of the class.
Here are just a couple of the dances that we created.

This week we have been busy planning for our cafe.
On Wednesday we wrote invitations for our cafe. Our invitations told who we were inviting when the cafe is, where it is and what we will be serving.
This week we also finished off our crafts that we will be selling at different stalls.
We made posters in pairs for the different stalls and posters that gave directions of how to get to our cafe.
We are excited because the cafe is in less than 2 weeks! (Thursday the 19th March from 10am-11am.)
On Wednesday we went to the book fair. We enjoyed looking at all of the different books. We also enjoyed reading some of the books that were on the shelves, like Temple Run, The Gruffalo and Horrid Henry.
On Thursday both P2 classes went to PE together. We were learning how to move our bodies in different ways to 8 beats in the music. Some of the ways we moved were jogging on the spot, jumping, skipping, hopping and resting.
Today Carol from the SSPCA came to talk to us about animals and how we should look after them. She showed us pictures of different animals and we talked about them all. We were very lucky to each get a sticker and a rainbow coloured pencil from Carol for showing good listening.
This week we have been very busy making things for our cafe.
Some people made pancakes with Miss Mowat. These will go in the freezer to keep them fresh.
Others made Minion bookmarks from lolly sticks and lanterns from jars with Miss Innes.
We have also made symmetrical ladybird paperweights from stones.
We spoke about what prices we would charge for each of the items we had made, but we are still deciding on final prices.
Yesterday we went to Tesco in Buckie to see what happened in a shop.
First we went to the bakery where Louise showed us how to make pancakes.
Then we went on a little hunt for different coloured fruit and vegetables at the front of the shop.
After that we went through the back of the shop into the chiller. We found it quite cold because it was only 2*C. We found out that yoghurts, burgers, milk and smoothies were all kept in the chiller to keep them fresh.
Then we got to see where the lorries come to deliver the food to the shop. We liked seeing how the big gate opened to let the lorries in.
We then went to the big freezer and went inside. It was freezing! The temperature of the freezer was -22*c. Brrr!!
Finally we went back through to the little room at the back of the staff room where we were very lucky and got goody bags with pieces of fruit, recipes and stickers in them.
We would like to say a big thank you to Chelsea and Louise for showing us around Tesco. We all had a brilliant time and it was a super trip.
Here are some of the things that we have learned this week in P2:
This term P2 are looking at shops and cafes as their context.
We are planning to open a cafe and hope to raise money for the Archie Foundation by selling various items in our cafe.
