At Alves Primary School, the responsibility for the promotion of positive Health and Wellbeing lies with every member of staff. We are guided by the ‘Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)’ approach which ensures all staff work together to offer support In Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Education within the wider context of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum.

In 2017/18 we consulted with staff, pupils and parents from the Alves School community about what, when and how we should teach this part of the curriculum.

We created a framework to guide the teaching and planning of RSHPE throughout the year by grouping the experience and outcomes with the wider Health and Wellbeing curriculum and linking them to the wellbeing indicators.
