Transition Experiences

February 23, 2019 by Mrs Blair | Comments Off on Transition Experiences

Once a month local nursery children are invited to Mrs Blair’s class to support and enhance transition from nursery to primary school. This helps the children get to know their new school, build a rapport with Mrs Blair, become familiar with routines and build positive relationships with children who will be in their class next year. Each visit is designed to support your child’s confidence, trust, reassurance, self-esteem, etc.  I look forward to our monthly visits. Below are some photos from previous transition visits.

Learning through play

Our classroom is full of wonderful items/objects to help us with our learning.  The children enjoy working together and learning from each other. Good listening and turn taking help us as we learn.  Have you played a game recently where you need to listen to others and take turns? Teamwork makes the dream work! 🙂

The children aim to make their first difference in the local community by asking elderly people to attend their Daffodil Tea event.  Members of Forres Rotary Club are supporting the event by escorting selected guest to and from the event.  Look out for the photos of the event which takes place on Thursday 28th March in the school hall.

Discovering the relationship between early multiplication, repeated addition, skip counting, doubles, etc. So much exploration and creativity being displayed. The children were asked to prove the multiplication fact.
