Primary 1/2 have mastered the art of getting changed and organised for PE in week one. They can get changed and tidy up with no adult support in under 8 mins. One happy teacher 👩🏫

P4/5 had a fantastic afternoon at Earthtime ……. from zip line building to mud kitchen and mad face painting, searching for bugs and building forts to developing practical skills such as using a saw and jewellery and clay model making.
We even managed to fit in a chat about ours rights to be safe I the forest school environment and the precautions taken to keep us safe outdoors.
The children (and I) had an amazing time and a fantastic learning experience. Thank you Earthtime.

*organised global goals for next years plans. Peace pole (13 &16), Challenge Day (1, 10 &15), ambassadorial links/Rotakids (11, 3 &4)
*Looked at photos from Rotakids lunch and 2 reps fed back.
*Read emails from Christine from Rotakids and put a proposed date in the diary for International Day for Older persons. Thursday 24th October (pm)
*confirmed International Day of Peace event – Friday 20th September. Mrs Blair to email around.
*confirmed UNA challenge day – raise money for RDA. Horse Hobby challenge day, 50p donation on Friday 8th November.
*young writer and photographer competition confirmed themes so Mrs Blair to tell other business groups. each group to add an entry.

Lexi, Struan and I joined Forres Rotary club at the Ramnee for lunch. The children confidently relayed what we have been doing as Rotakid members and what our plans for the future are. Both kids were outstanding representatives for Alves Primary. Well done guys! We also received the Rotary Presidential Citation award. Looking forward to getting started next year. After discussing and watching a BBC programme, War on Plastic, P1/2 we’re unhappy to learn that baby wipes are 80% plastic. Also, they did not realise how much micro-plastic litter there was on land, sea and in the sky! They were very concerned for the future and felt they needed to let others know about this. The children hadn’t really thought about the sheer quantity of plastic within each household and what happens to it after we are finished with it. Again they were shocked to see that Malaysia was an illegal dumping ground for much of our rubbish. Such a huge concept to grab for such little people but boy did they feel ready to make a change in their own lives after watching this. #inspiredtoreduceplasticuse
