P1/2 are currently learning about the journey of food from source to consumer.  The class have been looking at types of farming around Alves.  They identified that there is primarily livestock and arable farms surrounding the school.  Some were keen to take the birds eye view literally 🙂

Perspective drawings from a new perspective!

P1/2 are using the Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk to create perspective drawing.  They thought it would be a good idea to try and draw laying down to get a feel for the perspective they were aiming to achieve.  This being said the children took to drawing under the tables………

3 digit numbers & inverse operations

Some of our P1/2 pupils have been really busy this week learning about hundreds, tens and ones.  They have been exploring how to construct 3 digit numbers, writing them and ordering them.  Others have been reinforcing their knowledge of commutative law and inverse operations.  Keep up the amazing learning, questioning and enthusiasm P1/2. 🙂
