In Mathematics we have been learning about 2D shape. The children have shown a great knowledge of the basic shapes and the P1’s are learning the names of some which they haven’t come across before; such as pentagon, octagon and hexagon.

The P2’s have loved sharing what they already know about 2D shapes and have been teaching the P1’s some the language we use to describe shape properties.

Earlier this week we went on a shape hunt outside. Everyone found lots of different shapes out in the school playground, as well as having lots of fun being outdoors.

Next week we will be drawing and building with 2D shapes, before introducing 3D shapes.
