So far the Outdoor Exploration TOPS group have been to Helga’s Hole and Sanquhar Pond. We have identified trips, slips, dogs, water, sharp things and getting lost as risks and we have talked through how to keep ourselves safe.

Making a magic carpet

On Thursday 12th November, six of last years cricket team went through to Milnes High School, Fochabers to an awards ceremony. David Spencer, Scott Perry, Max Carty, Isla Brain, Bethany Young and Joe Jones collected the Bronze Award Certificate for their contribution to entry level cricket and the schools promotion of cricket. Well done.

On Thursday 12th November we went to meet Mrs Macgregor and Mrs Maclennan outside the museum to help Forres In Bloom plant bulbs in the containers there. The children worked in threes on a container and really enjoyed this. They are looking forward to seeing the bulbs flower in the spring.

On the 11th day of the 11th month at 11am pupils from the P6 and P7 year group bowed their heads at the war memorial in Forres while Rev Prentice said words and prayers to remember the fallen.

One child from the Wee Room took special thoughts to the War Memorial on behalf of all his friends.

P4/5N enjoyed learning about Guy Fawkes and making our very own builder themed Guy for the bonfire at Grant Park.

Monday 2nd November saw the first of the seasons dedicated running sessions for pupils of Primary 4 – 7. All 42 children turned out at 12:30 in running kit and were put through their paces by Douglas Cowie. The club will meet on the 9th, 23rd and 30th November and 7th December. Dates for the new year will be made known at the start of next term.
