After raising funds through their sponsored walk and organising the event themselves , P6 and P7 held their Burns Supper on Monday 26th January 2015. The event was a great success and most pupils attended, inviting a guest to enjoy the celebration of our National Bard! the evening kicked off with a Piper (thanks to Bethany’s grandad!) piping in the Haggis along with Mrs Maclennan – head chef . The Address to the Haggis was givwen by Cody Dunbar and Logan Stalker and they did a super job! The festivities continuted with a reply from the Haggis, a toast to and reply frae the Lassies (7G) , an Immortal Memory in dramatic form (6/7M) and choric verse of ‘ The Puddock ‘ by 6W. The pupils rounded off the evening with more poetry of their own and a rendition of Marie’s Wedding by all the pupils. Of course no Burns sSupper would be complete without an auld lang syne to finish off. Great fun had by all and many thanks to the teachers who helped, the kitchen staff and to Walkers who donated the delicious shortbread.
