We are now in our third week of the Energy course. We have an excellent group of students that are keen to get going with the work.
Today, the team has been learning about what goes on inside power stations.
How an electrical generator works
Add in some boilers, condensers and turbines and what do you get?
Unfortunately posts by students have been delayed due to a technical hitch, but we expect it will be sorted for next week.
This blog is for the Young Women in Energy class at Banff Academy. The class are working towards a Skills for Work National 5 qualification in Energy.
By the end of the course they will have
- investigated the energy industries that power Scotland (including oil and gas)
- built renewable energy solar and wind systems
- practiced the important employability skills that employers seek
- explored possible career options that STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) can offer
- toured local companies that employ people for their STEM skills
We will showcase some of the work that we do on a regular basis.
