Great Scots

Scotland has a rich history when it comes to Innovation, Architecture and Design. It can count amongst it’s people some of the greatest Innovators, Architects, Engineers, Scientists and Designers. YIAD 2016 gives us an exciting opportunity to make connections to the achievements of some of the Great Scots who have made a significant contribution to our country.

In addition to Andrew Carnegie, John Muir, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, John Napier and James Young who are listed on the Education Scotland the Great Scots Page, teachers may also want to engage with other influential Scotsmen such as

  • Robert Adam
  • William Arroll
  • Andrew Meikle
  • Thomas Telford

It is hoped that over the course of the year more information on these influential and inspiring individuals will appear on the Education Scotland website.
