Although it is important to identify where we are now, it is not enough to stop there. We need to reflect upon how we can develop the skills where we are less confident and how we can transfer the skills in which we are confident and competent.

Activity 2

Complete the audit below, using the information from the table above.

Skills already developed How will I use these How do I know (evidence)**
Organise and Plan  I will use these invaluable skills in order to ensure I am prepared for my upcoming lectures, placements and assignments within my university career.  I always have sufficient resources with me for lectures and always ensured I did in the past for classes at school. I always had the right jotters etc and would plan for the following days and what I needed.
Manage Time  I will use my time management skills in order to ensure I submit work in time for deadlines and split my time well across all my different tasks I need to do.  I have always, in the past handed in my essays, assignments and coursework before the deadline, fully completed. This was all while managing my school work with my extra curricular commitments.
Listen to others.  I will ensure I listen and engage in what others that I am working with are saying and make an effort to listen to a variety of different peoples opinions.  When I’ve worked in group situations, I always value and appreciate what others have to say. I always give my full attention to others when they speak ensuring good eye contact and body language is displayed.

** This section should be completed as you identify when/where/how you have used/developed these skills.

Part B – Activity 1

Recognition Reflection Action
Skills not yet developed How will I develop these How do I know (evidence)**
Make Presentations  By putting more time into learning about more digital aspects of the classroom and getting to know more about features on resources such as Powerpoint. Ie slide transitions, use of media etc.  Previous presentations within my secondary school career have been, to my standards average and I think that there is a lot I can do to make my presentations more innovative.
Debate formally and informally.  I will participate a lot more discursively in group discussions, giving my input regardless of other opinions rather than just agreeing.  Previously I would be prone to simply agree with what others in a group were saying rather than sharing my own opinions. This may come from a fear of not knowing how serious a debate may get or worrying about what other people have to say about my opinion on a specific matter.
