SYFF is charity and it started some 9 years ago out of one project. Every since then we have had our annual festival and handed out the SYFF Awards. Our aim is to help the young people of Scotland reach their true potential in the best way we know how – by telling stories on a screen.
The Scottish Youth Film Foundation believes that different people learn differently because they are different in their creativity. Some people need to move, some people need to talk, some people need to sit quietly whilst others learn better in groups. Film making, the process of coming together to tell stories on a screen, to create something that never existed before is the perfect vehicle for learning by doing. Some of you may be aware of one of the most popular TED talks ever.
We try to bring a more active, project-based approach to learning and it can be adapted for almost any age or ability or subject. Please, have a look around and if you think we can help then get in touch.
The Scottish Youth Film Foundation provides everything it does through grants and funding so that we never charge young people a penny.
