SYFF is glowing!

Welcome to SYFF or, as we are properly known, the Scottish Youth Film Foundation. We are a small charity with big aspirations and here to help educators navigate the world of film and the creative screen.

You can read all about SYFF in the section at the end of the menu but simply put we are there to help young Scots by using film. That can be either inside the classroom or out of it. We run a free festival each year and we work in smaller groups with young people making films, documentaries and so on.

We are constantly creating new projects across Scotland and if you think your class or your local youth group could benefit from a bit of film making then watch for our shout outs.

And we’re not just for media teachers. We believe that film making is a powerful tool in all subjects. Our project-based learning activity increases confidence, communication skills, teamwork, inclusion and a whole lot more of the human skills employers are currently looking for.

If your young people are aged 10-25 then we aim to be here for them at every stage of their journey. That might be deconstructing Paddington 2 or advising on a route into the film industry to make Paddington 3.

Watch this space. Opportunities coming soon.
