Happy Birthday Christopher!
Day 3 was a special day for Christopher who turned twelve today.
It was another busy day. We learned about map reading and orienteering and then we worked as a team to do two different types of orienteering course. The Cats were the winning team on the first course with the birthday boy having the best individual time and there was a draw for first place on the second ‘star’ course.
After lunch, we got the waterproofs and helmets on again. We needed them because the rain was torrential.
We had great fun at the ropes course and took on many challenges. Some of us went down the long tube slide to land in the muddy water and got soaked to the skin. Brrr! While on the ropes course Christopher said this birthday was awesome!
After the ropes, some people had a Blairvadach special. ☔️
Tomorrow night we will be busy with the disco so we will finish the blog once we are back in school on Monday. Hope you have enjoyed reading about our adventures.

This morning we went climbing. We had to wear a harness and a helmet. All of us managed to go up the climbing wall and the totem pole. Some of us thought the totem pole was terrifying!
This afternoon we went on a gorge walk. We walked up a waterfall and it was very slippery. Our leaders were helping us and some of us helped out friends. Chloe fell down lots of times but got up with a smile every time. There was lots of water in Ace’s wellies.
Once we climbed up the stream, we went through a tunnel. It was very dark and jaggy. The tunnel went under the train track from the Harry Potter film.
Then it was back down the hill though the farm. It was mucky and we had to watch out for the manure. Yuck!
Miss Cochrane came for dinner. It was nice to see her before an early night.

Today we arrived at the Blairvadach Centre just in time for a delicious lunch. We had lunch with our instructors, Andy S and Mike.
Next, it was time for a walk. We went to Torr Farm and climbed a hill. We came back down the hill through a muddy stream. It was stinking! Kylie lost her welly boot in the mud and got a very sticky sock. It was very funny (:
Then we worked as a team to walk down a stream and squeeze through a tunnel.
We were careful not to frighten the animals and remembered to close the gates behind us. Mike and Andy let us taste some juicy brambles and woodsorrell. The woodsorrell looked like cress but tasted like apple.
We were still hungry after that and enjoyed macaroni cheese at dinnertime.
In the evening, we played a hunting game around the centre and made a picture with the leaves we collected on the walk.
Can you tell what we made?
(Hint- It has something to do with the 31st of October.)
